We’re Hiring! Qualified Van & Motorhome Mechanic

Main duties: 

The main duties and responsibilities include:

• Carrying out pre-delivery inspections of the mechanical aspects of motorhomes, including the cab area. 
• Working from a set template booklet.
• Carrying out mechanical repairs to motorhome base vehicles
• Electrical fault finding and resolving electrical issues within the motorhome wiring and engine related harnesses.
• Replacing brakes & discs, callipers, shock absorbers and other mechanical components.
• Carrying out small and large engine services on vans (not cars).
• Air conditioning re-gassing (qualification preferred but training will be provided if required)
• Carrying out fault finding and diagnostics, using a diagnostic tool (Autel) 
• Experience working on Fiat, Peugeot, Ford Transit or VW vans is preferred but not essential.
• Previous experience within the caravan and motorhome industry is preferred but not essential. 

Requirements: 

• You must be a fully qualified mechanic with certification to apply for this role
•  You must have a driving license to apply for this role
•  You must be confident with electrical fault finding issues to apply for this role

Licence/Certification:

• City & Guilds Automotive (required)
• Driving Licence (required)

Experience: 

•  Mechanical knowledge: 5 years (required)
• Vehicle & Engine Maintenance & Repair Occupations: 5 years (preferred)

Working Hours:

The mechanic position is offered on a 40-hour contract, with the following working hours:

• Monday to Friday: 8.00am – 4.30pm, with half hour lunch break, as well as set morning/afternoon tea breaks
• Saturday: 8.30am – 12.30pm, on a one-in-three rota
• Overtime: Available on weekdays and Saturday mornings, paid at time and a half rate, in addition to the hourly rate.
